Okay so the boogie man/woman keeps trying to add himself or herself to your windows live messenger and you swear you don’t know who it is. Your tired of saying know.
1. Alt T for tools.
2. Arrow up to options hit inter.
3. Shift tab up so you are now in the list of options. General is first.
4. Arrow down to privacy, then tab and you’ll find a check box that says only people on my contacts list can see me and send me messages.
5. If you tab again you see your contacts but skip them keep tabbing tell you get to okay and you are set
.
This does not keep you from inviting people to join, but keeps random people from asking.
Last do not post your email address, Windows Live ID, and such on your profiles anyplace whith the message “Please ask me first.” You have posted it, so. Smile.

Peace.

Thanks for that. I dont' know what's with the recent round of Windows Messenger spamming. It sucks. I've never seen it until a few weeks ago. I never add anyone I don't recognize the email address of, so thankfully haven't had to talk to any of these idiots, if indeed they are even real people at all.

I had someone add me and I ask who they were and got no reply so I didn't add them. Then a few days later, they messaged me asking me who I was, I was on the phone and didn't reply, with in secs they had sent me four messages yelling at me to reply and I was rude for not replying and some other stuff. I gave them a few choice words and then blocked them from messaging me. Unfortunatly they could still email me. They said that I needed my ass kicked for being rude and ask why I don't have a picture up, they said that they think it was because I am fat and ugly. No I don't have one up because I don't care to deal with pictures at all. I nevercared much for them after going blind.
so after this I choose not to add unless you send a message telling me who you are and I still don't always add them.

many times, they are bots and you just need to keep blocking. They want you to see a webcam.

Also today a message my come up asking you to show your last name. I don't even have my real name on my profile, but you can go to your profile and make the iinfo you don't want viewed private. I like the fake stuff and anyone I really want to know I tell them. Sometimes the add ons are social networking things, or sports or the webcam girls, so the settings I laid out will keep that off. Other messengers have the same, so if you use Yahoo, AIM or whatever do the same check your private settings.
